JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary:
The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for delivering employee relations services for Ohio Machinery Co.
Individual is responsible for promoting a positive work environment through employee communication and engagement.
Will work with local leadership to resolve employee issues.
Will work with leadership to drive employee engagement at locations and improve employee retention.
Will evaluate and analyze employee exit interview data to make suggested improvements to local and HR leadership.
Assist leadership with creating community and improved employee work environments to increase employee retention.
Provide guidance and coaching to employees using Ohio Machinery's guiding philosophies, policies, and procedures.
Investigate employee and/or leadership concerns regarding policies, conduct, performance, attendance, etc Create standards to conduct investigations and resolve employee concerns using coaching, educating, and consulting.
Accountable for identifying Employee Relations trends within work group(s) and collaborating with leadership to consider improvements to drive employee engagement.
Evaluate exit interview data, provide analysis of results, and discuss trends and concerns with HR leadership.
Must professionally maintain confidential and sensitive information.

Must be able to assist in resolving employee relations concerns with dignity, respect, and compassion.
Needs to be able to combine great people skills, business judgment, and coaching skills.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent communication and follow-up skills will be required for success.
JOB
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resource management or a related field.
Minimum of five years of experience resolving human resource matters and complex employee relations issues.
Must be resourceful with excellent communication skills.
SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credentials are preferred.
Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply appropriate sections of employment law, regulations, and company policies.
Prior experience where a high degree of in-person and over-the-phone interpersonal interaction was required and enjoyed.
Demonstrated knowledge of employment law.
Must be MS proficient.

Must have a valid driver's license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
